Dear Sindy Committee,

On behalf of the staff of UNHCR, we wish to convey to the Sindy Organizing Committee our profound thanks for all you contributed to UNHCR’s Refugee Education Trust Fund during the

joint SINDY / UNHCR’s 50th Anniversary Party on 15 December 2000 such a successful event.

We also extend our sincere gratitude through you to the Sindy celebrants present who

contributed generously to this cause.

In particular staff derived great pleasure from the mix of young professionals in the Geneva international and private sector, and very much appreciated the special ambiance you helped

create, e.g. location, snow canon, bands, DJs and wonderful people.

We feel our common motivation was the cause of refugees, and in this regard we wish to share

the news that SF 1165.- was collected and donated to the Refugee Education Trust on

2 February 2001.  We are extremely grateful to Sindy for contributing a further sum of SF 1300.- thus bringing the grand total to SF 2465.   This money will make a difference in the lives of many

young people who have so far been denied the basic right to education.

We very much look forward to our continued collaboration with you.
