Our last 2 Jordan Desert Adventures were so good (participant reviews), that we're heading back for 1 more run...If you're into exploring new cultures, meeting new people, and having adventure - join us! Lonely Planet calls Jordan "one of the most welcoming, hospitable countries in the world", and we can confirm it. We'll travel in Jeeps and on foot through Laurence of Arabia's magnificent desert, visit legendary Petra (National Geographic's "#1 Ancient Site to See"), travel the 2000 years old Spice-route, camp under the desert stars in Wadi Rum with Bedouin story-tellers, spend other nights resting in comfortable 4/5 star hotels, float on the dead sea, and understand why the desert's tranquility is intoxicating. It will be an amazing experience - join us!

ITINERARY (may be changed due to weather, road conditions, and un-foreseen events)

Dates:

Depart Geneva: August 29 - September 4

Flights: Geneva-Amman-Geneva direct with Royal Jordanian

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1

Amman

The Jordan capital is one of the region's oldest cities and home to some of the world's most hospitable people. We'll arrive late afternoon, and head out to a group ice-breaking dinner at Amman's' best restaurant.

Day 2

Dead Sea to Petra

We get our jeeps (4 folks per jeep) and head along the Dead Sea into the desert city of Petra. We'll drive across one of earth's most amazing desert landscapes, with sand canyons, desert mountains,  water streams, and lonely dunes. We'll cross the Arnon River, and drive upstream the narrow Hassa canyon. We'll spend the night outside Petra in one of the region's most celebrated ground level bungalow hotels, built on the ruins on an ancient Arab village.

Day 3

Petra

Petra, the city carved in stone, is one of the ancient world's greatest wonders, and the subject of numerous articles and legends. After exploring Petra we'll use donkeys to top mount El Deir (The Monastery) to see an overview of the magnificent Arava valley spread below. Our hotel for the night is famous for its traditional Turkish baths.

Day 4

Arches' land

This is a day of un-believable views and hard core desert terrain driving, in the magnificent Arches' Land and Wadi Rum regions. We'll spend the night in a Bedouin camp enjoying a traditional Bedouin dinner and listening to ancient story tellers tell of another time and way of life.

Day 5

Spice Route

We get up with sun-rise and head towards the Arava Valley via the "Spice Route", used by the ancients for transforming spices from Asia to the Middle East. We'll climb up to one of the region's only fresh water sources, and bath in its water falls. We'll watch the amazing sunset from our hotel pool.

Day 6

Dead sea

We'll spend a day of leisure at the Dead Sea, known internationally for it's healing Spas and the 'floating on water' effect. In the evening we'll get together for a final group dinner.

Day 7

Travel back

Transfer to the airport, get back to civilization.
